Live ARt Blog: First Thursday Free Concert, West Reading PA

It is stupid nice outside. So if you're anywhere close to Reading, why not come see us, and hear some tunes by our friends in Flux Capacitor and opener Jeremy Sayer. Everytime Flux plays in this town, the folks seem to come out, so get in on the street party:

WHERE: 6th and Penn Ave., WEST READING PA
WHEN: Tonight (JUNE 2) 6-8 pm

We're going to be doing a third pass on our Milch und Honig diptych that we've been working on at these First Thursday concerts, the first session was documented in THIS POST.

In honor of the subject matter, here is the tune "Milk and Honey" by the late, great DENNIS BROWN:

We'll be posting from the show, stay tuned for more to look at and possibly hear.

Music Friday in Lancaster

Because apparently sleep truly is for the weak: we are at it again tonight, painting in Lancaster Square for the awesome Music For Everyone program. Here is the painting, done in two hours, for auction to raise money for city music programs:

And here is the full on double rainbow seen above the event (it's so intense):

Reminder: 222 in NYC tomorrow

What's up.

A friendly reminder/call to arms/plea to people in the Metro area to reclaim the night from this relentless rain.  Were going to be saddling up and hiking north despite a kind of "iffy" weather situation, NYC come out and show us some love.

In case you missed it:

What: Live Painting/Solo (222) Exhibition
Where:  Niagara (http://nymag.com/listings/bar/niagara/) A and the corner of 7th, in the East Village
When: Tomorrow...May 19th from 9pm to 12:30 am

Please check out the facebook event page, and "like" our group if you haven't already.

GET OUT and see some hardworking artists hustle ass and make a painting, look at new recent paintings and drawings, and bring some money cause you don't want to be telling people in 5 years that you had a chance to buy a 222 painting for an embarrassingly low price and passed. You'll look stupid. Big up the Antagonist Art Movement for having us again : www.antagovision.com

We'll be working on another painting in the "All My Relations" series (www.root222.com), check out the link in the Paintings section, there is some new ones on there.

What are we painting this time, you ask?

BAM.  Ask this guy.

Piano Painting Time Lapse Vid

Here is the brand-spanking new video of the gang making our piano for this year's Music For Everyone "Keys To the City" program.  Our piano was done for the Lancaster County Community Foundation (www.lancfound.org) and will be installed next week (I think at Lancaster's Central Market?).   Check it:

Thanks to John Gerdy (MFE) and everyone involved with this very cool program: http://www.musicforeveryone.net/

Art of the Park, West Chester NY--->THIS WEEKEND

Hello kind people.

222 will be at the Art of the Park event this weekend in Rye Town Park in Rye, NY, on saturday (5/14) and sunday (5/15).  We'll be painting all day on saturday, (9am-5pm) followed by a reception/exhibition kinda thing (6pm-???) that will feature an auction of all works created that day as well as a juried competition of other works.  I have a feeling there is going to be a lot of straight en plein air kinda stuff, hopefully our brand of crazy will be refreshing to the folks in attendance.   If you are interested in being one of those folks, you can find out more about the area < http://rye.patch.com/listings/rye-town-park > and the event < http://www.artofthepark.blogspot.com/ >

Sunday will feature an exhibition by participating artists, as well as an opportunity to come by our booth, say what's up, and BUY some paintings, drawings, and other random artworks including some of our individual stuff.

In other news, we finished another painting in our "All My Relations" series, this time it's Wolves.  We started this one at the Silo a few weeks back at the Flux Capicator/Echoes Talk Back show.  This will be making the drive up to NY, too, if anyone wants to take a run at it.  You can always get in touch in the meantime if you want dibs:
